Sounds to good to be true.  A job that pays $165,000 per year and you only have to show up for work 5 days every three months.  Well that is exactly what we paid our past presidential candidates.  Senators McCain, Obama and Clinton showed up at roll call at the Senate 5 times during the first three months of 2008.  They were too busy campaigning to be bothered with showing up to their paid jobs.

Imagine getting paid to look for another job or starting a new venture.  You would think that this was the exception and not the rule.  But looking at the entire Congress's work schedule from January 1 2008 to March 31, 2008 they had roll call on 23 days of a possible 60 work days for the same period.  That is an average of about 1 and a half days each week.

So while the taxpayers are looking at their elected representatives to deal with issues like increasing home foreclosures, faltering economy, foreign issues, oil prices and alternate energy policies our Congress is playing golf.

What do we do about this.  The only thing we can do.  Write a letter to each of your Congressmen and tell them to go to work.  If they don't then fire them when their term is up.
